What is aclocal and how is it used

I've been learning about rpm packages and a lot of it includes talk about "aclocal".

What is aclocal?

How is it used?

Does is apply to a single project or the entire system?

I also noticed that when ran a rpmbuild against source packages it mentioned that I needed to update my aclocal.m4. What is the build trying to tell me?

thanks

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...clocal&spell=1

hope this helps.

The build is trying to tell you that to get a better functioning compile/install, it would be better to upgrade aclocal.m4 .
