vmware in linux ..having problems

Hi,
I am trying to install vmware in RHL 4. The machine is a dell blade server (powerdedge 1855) and has dual processor.

I am able to install linux in the host machine. But during installation of RHL inside vmware, it says "Error 2 Reading Header: Cpio: Bad Magic " and later while trying to copy the image file onto the system, it says cannot write, hard disk not found...

I can make partitions and format them, but only during copying image, it says so...

do you have any idea and help me out this matter ? Thank you
