unable to share the dir or files


i did in this manner to share the files


vi /etc/exports

/dir1/dir2 192.168.10.5(sync) (ro)
|
|
(#i want share the above file to this ipadderess)

after saving the file and go for the commands
service nfs restart ; service portmap restart ; service iptables stop


in client side i mounted the file and showing error meesg. premission denied

but i gave full premmision to above files . and also
these file showing empty fi/proc/fs/nfs/exports or /var/lib/nfs/xtab

Did you place the system 192.168.10.5 in your /etc/hosts.allow file?

I don't know if it solves your problem, but I think your "exports" line should read

/dir1/dir2 192.168.10.5(sync,ro)
