Red face RHEL 5 installation on Dell SC440?


How to install redhat enterprise linux 5 on Dell SC440 machine? Because when I insert cd/DVD and restart the computer and from setup menu choose booting from DVD Rom an error occur. Computer go to Drive A instead to boot from RHATEL5 DVD. What The problem is??

is there any problem in ur dvdrom ???

check the hardware/BIOS

First try to connect a different DVD drive & try to boot from the DVD. If it still doesnt work.. Then Upgrade the BIOS to the latest BIOS version available for your system.
This should fix ur problem.

you need to set the bios to boot from dvd /cd
this is a dell with xp on it ??
hit f8( every 1/2 sec) during boot ( to xp) then from the onscreen menu .It should be f2 or f12
this will get you into the settings .
