Since you mention Windows PCs, I assume that the network drive contains Windows shares.
To access those shares, you (normally) need to provide an appropriate user name and password. This is done when mounting the drive.
Another complication is the existence of several partially incompatible SMB protocol versions. You may have to specify a particular version when mounting.
Since I don't know how you mount that drive or what distro is running on your computer, let me suggest you perform an internet search for
