Smile root passwd 4 Knoopx CD


Hi ,

I got a KNOOPIX cCD from my friend
But he don't konw its root password

I just want to know it

use the knoppic CD

u need to perform root jobs by

sudo <command>

and in knopix 3.2

it comes to the super user status by running

su

in the shell

If you really, really want to have the root password for some reason, try:
Code:
sudo passwd root
And set it to what ever you want.

[NOTE: I don't have my Knoppix CD with me, so I can't confirm that this works, but I think it should...]

yes the above should work
but when u are working in the konsole from ur gui mode then u can come to the SU status by

su

in knoppix 3.2 and above
in lower versions of knoppix u will need the above command in above post to set the passwd
