Unhappy Gentoo keyboard problems

Hey! I'm having some problems in Gentoo. I just installed Gentoo on my system. It boots fine. But the keyboard doesn't work. Any ideas on the problem? Do I need to compile PS/2-ness into the kernel or is that already included? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I am having the same problems with my keyboard on my laptop and I just installed Gentoo. I can get it to work eventually, but it requires that I be pushing the Shift key during the boot of the kernel, otherwise the keyboard will fail to function.

Any insight on how to fix this annoying problem would be greatly appreciated. It's got me confused.
