For the original poster, if you're actually trying to convert a WinME system to linux, and want to use on modern web, you will run into browser compatibility issues. So here's some hints.
If Pentium III/Athlon XP or earlier, you probably don't have SSE2. So you have one choice of modern browser - epiphany (aka gnome-web), which uses the webkit engine (same as safari and ios).
If you have new enough Pentium 4 or later, then you'll have SSE2 and be able to run firefox, they still supporting 32-bit SSE2 in their official build. But no chromium based browsers for you, they started requiring SSE3 (pni) in version 89 March this year, which even excludes some of the earliest athlon64's. If you got SSE3/pni support then yer pretty good as long as you don't use waterfox g4, they want SSE4.3, a requirement above and beyond any other browser today afiak, something none of the computers I maintain have...

Anyway, his/her second post is again completely useless.
And still did not respond here...

Hey, I liked Windows ME ... back in the day. My first (working) Linux install dual-booted with ME. I had it all riced up with Litestep and spend many hours playing Morrowind on it.

Bot was "fluent in English" here, apart from two randomly-replaced words.
