Im sad to hear that the LPIC book was bad. I relied on it when I studied towards LPI101 and LPI102. It got me through the exam.
As an old CNI (Certified Novell Instructor) I am of course proud to hear that the Novell bootcamp was a good thing though.

I thought there might be a GPL licensed studyguide around, but I never found any.

Don't get me wrong the book will help you pass the test but it will throw you for a loop when you try to do somethings in the real world. It is still on my list of things to do ( get questions posted)
I will do so in the next day or two once i have 5 min to breath

iif anyone is interested in training manuals

have alot of paper if your going to print these, my printer has been busy for 3 hours printing the first manual.
