Fedora Core 1 installation help

Looking for a quick fix! I just gave Win NT 4.0 the boot and took my hard drive apart and now I could see myself in them platters. But my BIOS is old and needs a little floppy drive help to get things started. Is there a place where I could download a small distro for a floppy to start my installation. I have my 5 CD's for Fedora that I got from Cheap Bytes and some Slackware if I need it.

Slackware allows you to create a floppy boot disk during the installation, I would imagine most distros allow you to.

The problem is that my PC won't read a CD until it gets a little help from something loaded in RAM. The bottom line is that I could spend some time learning from these web sites of what I want to do. My PC won't boot from a CD. It is a Compaq Presario 4772, vintage 1996 with a whopping 166Mhz Pentium. At least I'm not trying to work with a 486!

I have all the same files and documents on my Slackware Installation Disk 1. I tried three diferent kernels. I get the same message "boot fails".
