Dual Monitor Help....
Hello All,
I am hoping someone can help me. I have installed Fedora 9 on my workstation. I have an ATI 9800XT video card with analog and digital connections. Connected to that card are two Acer X221 monitors, which Fedora finds perfectly.
My only problem, and only thing keeping me from dumping M$ altogether is I cannot get them to show as an expanded desktop, and not cloned. I have tried using the dual head setting in System, Administration, Display, but when I make the correct settings, I click okay, and the button pushes in, however it doesn't "take" if that makes sense. I have also included my Xorg file in the hopes someone can help me. I really like F9, and this is the only thing left I need.
I appreciate any help in advance. Trust me if I can get this to work, M$ will have one less customer!
I think the option you're looking for is, Xinerama. I'm not real familiar with the GUI's in Fedora, since I generally don't use them. You might also look into the "TwinView" option, although it's an Nvidia thing. There may be something similar for ATI cards.

I thank you for that info, I do, however part of my problem is I am unsure what I am doing besides researching here, and the web.
Your xorg.conf file should look more like this, I think. Notice the "LeftOf" portion. You can manually edit your xorg.conf file and restart the X server to test any changes you've made. As always, I'd recommend making a backup of the original file before you start tinkering too much.
