I do have small network having Samba installed. We have a network printer HP LaserJet 3055. How will I print data from a linux client. I am a newbie in this kind of configuration. Is Samba needed for this kind of print jobs ? Because this is a network printer. Can you tell me the way to do my job?
Suppose the linux client IP is 192.168.10.15 and the PrinterIP is 192.168.10.30. How will I configure it in my Fedora 9 ?
no much info about fedora 9 but usully you will find printing utility in "System Settings" option from Main Menu.
If you are able to find one then:
1. Click New printer
2. Queue Type: Networked JetDirect
3. IP and port of the netowork printer
You need root privilege for this.
