I think there is a difference in what is being posted here and reality. Most of the members that actually show up everyday at the Debian Users Forum are there to help others not ask questions.
PS. It is good to see firmilyer faces and Thank you LQ for the offer. As a user of both forums I appreciate the willingness to work with each other.

So this is where the Debian Users Forums crew escaped to?! I read this trend a few days ago, in any case I hope that the forum will be up as soon as possible in whatever form. Btw, I still have copies of my HOWTOs so I'll repost it sometime later. In case if anyone wish to check the old forum, you can still check it using google's cache and a good bit of memory exercise.
Expect rumours of unreadiness and impending delay to start 26 April
Belated revised target date announcement expected 3 May
Period of silence which may or may not imply intense labour lasts until 5 June
2nd revised target date announcement made on 5 June. Nobody reads through to the end of the announcement and subsequently the date is hotly disputed.
Thread appears on ubuntuforums claiming Debian died dude. Period.
ubuntuforums member points out this is not the case and is infracted for being argumentative. Mods then notice his sig linking to a humanist website....not believing in jesus is considered an aggravating factor and sure sign of a hard to define attitude problem and the infraction is raised to a permanent ban.
Meanwhile the forum unexpectedly comes back up on 6 June but no-one notices except spambots.
forums.debian.net temporarily gone.
Work is underway to restore this service. It has been temporarily disabled in the wake of a compromised forum admin password. DSA, 2009-04-22.

I never did like the mods there much, as I know they dislike me, lol.
They can't ban him for what religion he believes in, can he?
I like apt-get, but I use aptitude when apt-get gives dependency problems.
I also use Gnome. What is wrong with Gnome? I also use kde3.5.X and I like both....
Thanks Absent Minded , I just don't get out much anymore
It's nice to see the "tongue-in-cheek" crowd has gotten this thread moving in the right direction !
All that's left is for Joe Sixpack to comment on Levene's cat and we'll be rollin'
There once was a Mod named Lavene
Who's Rants really made the Scene
When Her cat got away
She chased it all day
It ended in Joe sixpack's Ravine
awww lawwwd someone had to mention joe sixpack, now if they get granny smith, and average joe then we will be ready to be user friendly....thank god since everyone I know wants to use a OS designed for the lowest common denominator, they want to be using the same stupid tool given to those too stupid to operate something that requires some learning....
