debian MX multi-boot installation needs being moved then replaced

MX Linux did a multi-boot installation as it's installed after Windows (GPT) was installed with ESP at sda2
But then the need is to rearrange the partition of / MX root (to be split up, it is too big 256G), let it be sda7.
So then it has finely copied (in need to move) to the 2 next part. stepping over its /home part., say, sda8, to be at, let say, sda9 and with the grub menuentry is edited to be replaced with this new MX part. sda9
But while /boot/grub/grub.cfg in sda7 is fine keeping there, how can it get moved since the inevitable partition rearrangment will wipe out all that location ?
We know it'll help just use MX installer though not sure if it can really resolve it, but the CLI is much better method in this. Please help !

As presented, what you have and what you want are unclear. If you present input and output here using code tags from
Code:
sudo parted -l
cat /etc/fstab
sudo blkid
and better describe what you mean by "moved then replaced", someone here should be able to provide usable help.

assuming you already moved root partition over, you will need to edit you /etc/fstab to indicate / on /dev/sda9.
Then
Code:
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /<mount point of /dev/sda7>/boot/grub/grub.cfg
should give you a new working grub menu.

To move where the bootloader on the efi parition points to:
Code:
sudo grub-install

you must've meant sda9, the new part. copy

not using important options e.g:
Code:
--efi-directory=
?

You said copied over, so I was assuming you was still booting into the old root partition. There are different ways of doing this as long as you know what your doing.

apologize, ok, I forgot to ask:

Is this itself,
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /<mount point of /dev/sda7>/boot/grub/grub.cfg

should be done on new part. sd9 which I did chose it on boot selection (from menuentry I made it up manually my own) so the result can be saved in the new part. ?

If your able to boot into sda9, from the original install of grub, boot into sda9 grub-install and update-grub should be all that needs to be done.
