I am learning how to create my own custom package for Cinnamon DE. My goal is to have it install a specific theme rather than set the them up post installation.

I understand themes are located in directories such as files/usr/share/themes/ or files/usr/share/cinnamon


Using the find command, I am unable to locate any "themes" folder. However, searching for a name of a theme name, i was able to location some thumbmails with theme names. I assume those are for the theme selection in the settings.

Is there not themes in the package, or are they downloaded now upon installation?

Got the answer. I had assumed Cinnamon was packaging their own Themes, but as it turns out they are using the gnome-themes-extra package.

Now the question is, where is the default theme being pushed after install?
