How to config a Wi-Fi dongle in DSL

Please could anyone give me info on how to config. a TP-LINK TL-WDN3200 USB dongle in DSL, I get this info ' no network card found'.

DSL kernel was made way before that usb was. Any reason you can give on why DSL is needed on this computer?

What you are asking is equivalent to asking how to install a driver for a wireless N usb hardware on Windows 98.

I have a wireless B pcmcia card (netgear MA401) that works out of the box on dsl. But that pcmcia card is as old as the dsl kernel. It (the netgfear card) has no wpa functions either. wpa is newer than dsl also.

Another thought, which is what I do, is to enjoy DSL on a virtual machine (or older hardware) and recreate it as best we can on your host machine with a netinstall .iso of a modern distro, i.e., install just the base system of Debian or Ubuntu (I use Trisquel instead of vanilla Ubuntu because why reinvent the wheel) and then (sudo) apt-get install what you will actually use.

You might have to track down some dependencies to get everything working and make some substitutions, but it's a valuable experience and a fun project.

You could do it in a virtual machine but it is not maintained anymore and there are other distros (mentioned that could do the same job).

Drivers are kernel specific and that kernel is so old it won't support that hardware.
