Question Accessing Samba Shares

DSL has been a vital part of my toolkit for some time, and I have just started my first HDD install. But, I really need to share nicely with Mac, Linux and Windows shares all using samba. (At a pinch I could use fish (SSH)) Remember my goal is a client to read files not to be a server

Are there any tools, or can i apt-get linneighborhood or such to allow me to access samba shares. There does not seem to be any samba client as smbmnt and smbmount cannot be found even as root. So would these be loaded as deps ?

Any tips from others who have done this before me would be very helpful.

Other than that, this distro is behaving perfectly, and gaining a whole new level of respect.

0.5.2+ has smbtree and smbclient, it is text based. Use smbtree to see what computer names are available, and use smbclient to connect.
Syntax:
smbclient //computername/sharename -U username

Thanks for that, I knew they were there somewhere.

Installed 5.3 on a 486 with great success, and after playing with wireless on my old ACER extensa 500 P1 233 64 meg ram, I am planning to replace my current laptop distro.

I have to get a good office suite, or get open office to work, but other than that this has everything I need in a distro. I am becomming impressed. The first time any debain has impressed me. So kudos to the team, and thanks for the support.
