the first purple picture/screen of terminal which says it is downloading and compligin etc..... it has been stuck there forever ahd even tried rebooting and terminal is locked as such - how when i tried to purge the libdvd - says not complete or error - so now what? thannks - sorry for the vagueness. too much happening and this is my good office laptop too. so crucial.
so back to square one - things just seem to go no where. and this is a fast laptop compared to the other 2. this was a problem that i had on my wife's and that somehow corrected itself. on this one notta. thannk you.
ok not sure but i tried hitting tab and that highlighted the choice needed and then hit enter and also another choice and hit tab and it seemed to work. i never recall ever having to tab down. learn something ne or old. eh>
i guess so. need a usb dvd player to try it - it seemed to complete finally and also updated and upgraded too. so i did get out of the loop. there was a glitch when i did the wife's dell but that got worked out last week - but on the thinkpad it got hung and found the tab accidentally. second daily us thinkpad went perfect once i hit the tabs as needed. weird. thanks cordx.
i recall the reconfiguring of libdvd-pkg being different than most installs i have gone through as well. i am glad your machines are back in working order. i use vlc to play dvd's from the library all the time and think it is a good program once you get over this initial bump in the road
