issues with libdvd***. Cannot play dvd video.

Hi guys,

I've tried now 2 days to view dvd-video without success.
I don't have problems to view dvd-video that I've burned by myself (without css ofcourse).

I am also able to view .avi files and such.

When I try to open dvd-video with totem, I can see following in the messages file:
Code:

OK, this seems like a HW problem with my DVD-drive or disk. I don't think so, as I have also WinXP installed to same HW and I am able to play this specifig dvd-video in Windows.

Any ideas what I've forgot?

I use Gnome and Mplayer mostly

Code:
membit:~ # rpm -qa|grep dvd
dvdauthor-0.6.14-0.pm.1
lsdvd-0.16-0.pm.0
libdvdcss-1.2.10-3.1
libdvdread4-4.1.3-1.pm.1
libdvdread3-0.9.7-4.1
libdvdplay0-1.0.1-0.pm.3
libdvdnav-0.1.10-112.1
dvd+rw-tools-7.1-17.1
libdvdnav4-4.1.3-1.pm.1
openSUSE-release-dvd-11.0-47.1

membit:~ # rpm -qa|grep -i mplayer
mplayerplug-in-3.55-0.pm.1
MPlayer-1.0rc2_r27637-3.pm.3
gnome-mplayer-0.9.0-0.pm.2

membit:~ # cat /etc/*release
openSUSE 11.0 (X86-64)
VERSION = 11.0

membit:~ # uname -r
2.6.25.18-0.2-default

membit:~ # cat /proc/cpuinfo|grep 'model name'
model name : Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 440 @ 2.00GHz

openSUSE in particular has a tendency to distribute broken CLIENT side applications. So even with libdvdcss, things won't play. Add the community packman repository to your intallation sources and install libxine and friends from there via YaST and see if that fixes the issue.

Nope, that is not the thing.

I've installed all packages included in:
http://opensuse-community.org/Restricted_Formats/11.1

I also installed x86 version of OpenSUSE 11.0 to another HDD to same hardware... almost same problem
VLC reports this when opening DVD:
libdvdnav: Unable to find map file '/home/<username>/.dvdnav/LO4-0E-UT1_DES.map'

EDIT:
I think I'll give up soon and change distro...
