I don't understand the question. Arch can be installed from a bootable cd. What do you mean "via Knoppix"?

Use Knoppix as an installer.....I since read that you can use floppies to install

I have no CD-R so have ordered Arch CD ...

There is a Live version of Arch as well

I just thought that you can install Gentoo via Knoppix so why can't you do the same for
Arch

If your cd drive isn't bootable, then yes, you would need to use floppies or some other distro to install it. But as Arch cds are bootable, and I imagine your cd drive is too (just enable it in BIOS), you shouldn't need to use any other medium.

There is a live version of ArchLinux though. It even has Knoppix hardware detection scripts.

Well yes, but... why not just use the AMLUG CD?

I did it this way & can recommend it.
