arch install hangs

i just tried installing archlinux .7 and after i press enter at the prompt to continue with the install, it scans my hardware but then hangs when it gets to this point:

uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: Intel Corp. 82801FV/FBM/FR/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB UHCI #1

what should i do? i left it there for several minutes and nother happened.

thanks

If there is any non-essential hardware attached to a usb port, you could try removing it temporarily.

i tried going through with the seup using qemu, and the install doesn't hang at that point. however, it doesn't detect any hard drives so i can't install it that way (plus i don't even know if i'd be able to boot into it through grub if i installed through qemu).

Mmmh... ICH6

Is your motherboard the latest? It may not be supported by the current installation kernel.

Do you mean the first prompt when it installs through CDROM?

I am not too sure about Arch but it usually allows you to put boot parameters.
I suggest you post your question to user forum in arch. You can follow user forum link at www.archlinux.org.

It's more active than here.

my motherboard (abit aa8xe) is prety new, i bought in in february, and it came out sometime around jan-feb. it's pretty new tech as well, lga775, pci-e, sata, etc. the sound doesn't even work in most distros because the no module (that i've found) has supported it.
