Ubuntu is slow to boot on hp Pavilion Ze440 + network issuses
I have loaded the latest version of xubuntu on an on a your year old Intel Celeron based HP Pavillion ZE4500 Laptop with the followinf Specifications
Memory: 512MB
hdd: 40GB
Shouldn't these hard drive an memory specifications lsited above be adquate enough to rum a Xubuntu system.
I am also having one heck of a time getting my eathernet adapter to aquire an address from, my room mates Linksys wrt54G wireless Cable dsl safe router and firewall via a hardwired connection.
Your suggestions are welcome as I have been able to successfully run Ubuntu 6.06 Daper Drake and 7.0 series on this machine with the gnome desktop replaced by the XFCE desktop via the apt-get install -y Xubuntu-desktop command @ the command prompt.
