yast2 without gui

I am using
openSUSE Leap VERSION="15.1"
By default yast2 version 4.1.75-lp151.2.16.1 is installed.
Calling "yast2" starts without GUI.
This is a new problem. Unfortunately, I cannot remember when it first occured.
I am regularly updating my system via "zypper up".
Where shall i look for a solution?

I am confused... What is the problem?
You want to start YaST in ncurses (text mode) like documented here: https://doc.opensuse.org/documentati...yast-text.html

Sorry, I was too sloppy.
What I get is the ncurses pseudo-graphical interface (white text on blue background).
What I was used to, and want to have again is a full graphical interface.

Got it - thanks!

So, if you are logged into desktop environment, and I believe under system tools, there is YaST. If you navigate and click on it, does it not open YaST full GUI?
Sorry, do not have my openSuSE VM up currently, so can't give you exact steps.

You cannot run the GUI version of YaST over a sudo, only the logged-on user has authority to access the X-server.
