Suse 9.3 Firefox needs ISP DSN's to work, KONQ doesn't
Hi Using SUSE 9.3-- been having a strange problem with Firefox -- KDE (KONQUEROR) accesses the Internet fine (am going via a D-LINK ADSL router with DHCP enabled).
Firefox hangs (or only finds the SUSE / NOVELL home site.
Now if I fill in the DSN servers for my ISP in the Network setup it's fine -- but I shouldn't really have to do this --especially as I want to use a laptop on different LANS which won't have the same ISP / DSN servers.
KONQUEROR (KDE) works fine without these entries
(Same on Windoze XP PRO -- Firefox and IE(ugh!!!!) both work fine by just clicking the DHCP and clicking box OBTAIN IP address and Obtain DNS automatically).
It seems Firefox is not picking up automatically the DNS from the DHCP server whereas KONQ does.
Is there anywhere in Firefox settings where I can check this --I've looked all over the place but I can't find anything.
(BTW I remember I think I had this problem on SUSE 9.2 as well).
