suse 10.2 install

I am thinking about installing suse 10.2 x86_64. My question is will I have any problems with my sata drive?

I know I am going to have problems with my ATI video card. but I want to make sure I wont have any other problems.

AMD Athlon 64 3300+ 2.40 GHz NewCastle Socket 754 CPU
Asus K8V-X SE Motherboard
Ultra 1024MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz
ATI Radeon X1600 Pro AGP 512M
Maxtor DiamondMax 300GB SATA/150 7200RPM 16MB

Thanks, dreck

Hey,
Although i dont personally have any sata drives, i have installed onto various machines that do, and never once had a problem. All the kernel modules, and drivers are there straight away and pick up the sata drives no problem, so aslong as your mobo can see all 300 gigs of the drive, then SuSE should be able to aswel.

As for the ATi card, i have heard that those drivers have come a fair distance over the past year, so hopefully its not gonna be as hard as you think?

Anyway let us no how you get on

Ryan

Thumbs up

i have a dual-boot system - half of my SATA drive is for Windows and half is for openSUSE 10.2. i did not encounter any troubles referring SATA drive, so it should work fine for your.
