I'm a newbie to Linux and just started using SuSE 9.1 Personal.
I want to install and setup an Apache web server on my SuSE computer.
I'm looking in the SuSE admin guide under chapter 15, the apache web server.
It talks about setting up Apache with YaST. I'm following the directions where it says to goto the YaST control center > Network Services > HTTP Server.
However, i do not see HTTP Server listed under Network Services.
Does Apache not come installed with SuSE 9.1 Personal?
Please help.

I don't think Apache comes installed with SuSE Personal. Nor I think it comes with the CD's. You will need to download and install those packages from SuSE's ftp. An easier approach would be to configure YaST so it downloads packages directly from the Internet for you.

I will give you a link to a quick howto to configure YaST to act like that. The thing is, it was for SuSE 9.1 Pro, not sure if the same applies to SuSE personal. I can't see why it shouldn't though
