ntpd failed to be restarted


systemctl restart ntpd
Job for ntpd.service failed. See "systemctl status ntpd.service" and "journalctl -xn" for details.

It would be great if you also shared what you have done so far to solve this problem. Such as, using a search engine to find those error messages.

seems to say that the NTP daemon can't use an address because it's already in use.

Now, normally the NTP daemon listens at port 123. If the internet search above doesn't yield a result that fits my situation, I would use the ss or netstat command to find out if another process occupies this port. If that doesn't help, I would run the NTP daemon with the -d or -D options to get more output. I suppose that there is a config file, probably under /etc/sysconfig, where you can add those options.
