You cannot skip any.
The base package selection for SuSE uses at least 1 single file on all 5 CDs. Don't ask, It wasn't my descision. Assuming you did your selections right, you MIGHT be able to skip 1 or 2... which as I recall needed only like 6 files, and another need just 1. However, this is HIGHLY unlikely. They did not divide them nicely into source, KDE, gnome, devel, or any other sensical listing that I can tell. HOwever, if you take the base selection and remove many packages, you might be able to get down to using only 3 or 4 CDs... but I haven't really bothered since a proper install(for my purposes) takes at least a few hundred files off each CD.
If you really want suse in a single CD installation, you probably want to look into SLICK. That contains most of the KDE isntallation and a good chunk of software, all on a single disk.
