I use xterms a lot and like to run them without decor. I've eliminated the title bar, right hand and bottom borders, but there remains always about a 15 pixel wide cross-hatched gray sidebar on the left side of the xterm. Can it be gotten rid of?
In this 15.4 running KDE3, there is no such bar on the left side, but there is one on the right side that appears to be a scrollbar, but doesn't function as one in an expected way. Instead it is ignored unless mouse buttons are used in conjunction with shift keys, in which case it is a scrollbar.
