How do I enable 3dfx Voodoo3 3D support in Suse 10.2

I have been unable to get 3D enable for Suse 10.2. I don't really care if I can run Beryl or Compiz, but there was a 3D game that I like to get working.

Research indicated that in Suse 10.1, they removed 3D support for 3dfx cards.

Does anyone have luck getting 3D to work? If so, how?

"One bit of warning. While the 3dfx driver (tdfx) is supported, 3D support for it has been depreciated since Suse 10.1. There are no libglide3 RPM for 10.2. so you’ll be out of luck if you plan to play 3D games on 3dfx unless you want to compile your own libglide3 module."

It looks like you need to stick with SuSE 10.1 or upgrade to an Nvidia Video card that fully supports SuSE 10.2 and 3D graphics. The 3dfx card is very old and not likely to gain much future support.

Very funny to refer an answer to my own blog. I guess I've to investigate compiling the libglide3 module.
