Question How do I copy YaST logfiles to a floppy?

I have filed a bug report for the SUSE 10.1 beta install and am trying to obtain the hwinfo.txt and the YaST logfiles from the install. These are not the files from my existing installation but those created during the install and stored in RAM drive.

I have found the files, copied them to /tmp and then copied them to /media/floppy. When I CD to /media/floppy and enter DIR the files are listed, but they are not actually on the floppy. There is no disk activity from the floppy drive when I copy them to it and if I read the floppy on another PC they are not there.

Is the /media/floppy directory some virtual drive that just exists in RAM? If so, how can I copy the files to the real floppy?

floppy

/media/floppy in suse should work if you copy files there. please post the steps you did for copying the files to the floppy and the output of the system (e.g. pico /etc/fstab).

need more information....

basic error

I have solved the problem, I had not manually mounted the floppy drive! (duh!) I had assumed that because I could apparently copy to /media/floppy that it had been mounted automatically, but no!
