Firefox Broke

I am using SUSE 10.0 and just did some upgrades on gnome and now my Firefox is broke. I get the following:

/opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: /opt/gnome/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_object_compat_control

So how do I get it fixed. I checked deleting it and re-install but other programs are dependant on it.

What happens if you download the latest firefox.tar.gz, extract it and run the executable firefox script? Does this one work?

Lots of programs broke

I discovered that a lot of programs are broke (ie sane, gimp, nvu, firefox) that use the libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0. So I downgraded to gtk2-2.8.3-4.i586.rpm and now all is well.
