empty lines in output of git branch -a

I've never seen empty lines in other linux distro - is it please a bug ?

I don't think git works differently on different distros, so I would rather say it is a configuration issue. But [obviously] without details hard to say anything.
Also I don't think the command git branch has a bug like this, that would make the whole git suite useless. So again, I guess it is just a local issue on your side.
