apt-get for suse


Hi.. do u know if apt-get is available for suse 9.1?

I'm pretty sure it is. And www.suseforums.com has a pretty good walkthrough of the install.

Was I the only one who had nothing but problems after using apt in SuSE? I ditched it completely after Packman became a YaST source. It kept hosing the dependancies and YaST really didn't like what apt did to my system. They should make apt run suseconfig when it is finished. I think that might have been my problem.

thx

thx...Do u know if there are some incopatability issues between apt-get and yast? Ig everything is fine why suse doesnot include it in the dvds?

I think it is because Suseconfig runs after every install in YaST, updating YaST's database, where apt-get does not.

Useful information indeed... Do u think that not running Suseconfig can cause problems?

I do believe it can.

I've found APT on SUSE can be problematic though, alas.
