apt-get


Have u ever tried the apt-get with suse 9.1? Do u know if causes problems to yast?

Actually, it does the same function as YaST, and works off of the same rpm database. Like YaST, it will only cause conflicts and difficulties if you point it to non-SuSE official repositories/mirrors while doing certain updates, upgrades, and installs.

use it all the time, never had a problem. some of the repositories contain unstable packages(suse-people, kernel_of_the_day) which can cause problems if you're not carefull. yast and apt work from the same rpm database so each knows what the other has done.
