Slackware 15.0 usb installation stops after initrd

Hello, I tried to install Slackware 15.0 on a Dell XPS 13 from an USB stick. The job seems to start correctly and loads kernel and initrd but after that it seems do not proceed, the screen looks "frozen" and I must power off. Thought it was matter of screen, I tried to pass nomodeset, nofb, vga=normal to huge.s with no result. I set up the stick as described in the "usb and pxe installers" directory, trying both dd and the script.

Edit: I had already successfully used the stick with usbboot.img (copied using dd) to install Slackware 15.0 on my main computer, from which I am writing now.

It may not be setting the screen resolution correctly, video=1024x768 or some other screen resolution added to rest of the kernel options.

Thank you. I tried this, 800x600, 1920x1080, with no result.

I tried also to change the kernel to kms, to boot from the 14.2 installer, but it "freezes" always at the same point. Of course I don't know if it's working on the "background" or if it really freezes.

To check, after waiting about 2 or 3 minutes, press enter a few time, type reboot and/or alt-ctl-delete. If the reboot works you getting to a console and it is a display problem.
If alt-ctrl-delete doesn't work it is probably frozen.

I had this happen several years ago on a system that had duel graphic cards, no display but could type reboot or poweroff and the system would respond.

I did it and the verdict is that it probably freezes.

Then I tried to install Linux Mint and it succeded although it needs to be tuned. Making it working live in the standard mode (not the compatibility one) before installation, it showed at least a lot of warnings concerning acpi.

I also tried to install OpenSUSE but despite the installer seems to work properly up to where you must select the partitions to install to, after that it seems to not find the hard disk: it shows only the usb stick as /dev/sda. So to speak, Linux Mint shows the main (only) disk, during and after installation, as /dev/nvme0n1 and its partitions as /dev/nvme0n1p1, /dev/nvme0n1p2, etc.
