I don't know about your network device, never heard anything from Accton, but everything else should run out of the box.

If that network device works in your current distro it most likely also will work in Slackware.

Yes I havn't had any problems with my internet when installing other distros. What i have not been able to learn is getting my sound going, although I have managed to get it going using the F.I.I.K method i do not think that method will work with slackware. It looks like i have I have 2 multimedia audio controllers, Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 12) and Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 07).
what will i need to know when I am trying to get the sound going in slackware?

That looks like you have the onboard sound and a additional Soundblaster card in your system. If you use only one of them I would prefer the Soundblaster and just diable the onboard soundcard in the systems BIOS.

No, you don't miss that part, it simply isn't there. It is up to you to create the user after installation.

Only root account is created during setup.
You need to create the user after reboot
Code:
#adduser user
Kind regards
