/boot partition wher

P-lll (intel) 750MZ
32 NVIDIA 128 RAM
30 GB HDD

i am using win xp pro in
hda1 =c vfat xp pro
hda2=d vfat

and using redhat 9.0 in
hda 6(/boot) ext3 100mb
hda7 (/) ext3 (root) at least 5 gb i am using
hda8(swap) 256mb

hda9=e vfat

my redhat works fine from /boot
and now i want to use slackware

i have read about the slack installation
it says that the /boot partition will be in the main partition not in the extended partition

is it possible for me install slackware by formatting the redhat(using) partition only

If I understood you correctly, you want to replace redhat with slackware. If so, then you can use the same partitions from redhat for the same purpose on slackware. There is no need to reformat anything. Just go through the installation and tell it, for example, that you want to use /dev/hda6 for your /boot partition, but don't ask it to format it.
