I installed xrdp from slackbuilds and I installed tightvnc. I'm able to "connect" to the linux box from windows, however when I put my username and password in, I get "Login failed"

I created the tsusers and tsadmins groups and added my user account to tsusers. In searching the only info I found was about setting the color depth in the windows client to use 24bit, but changing that didn't help.

Not sure what else I can do since it is technically connecting, just not accepting my login info. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

i don't know about your linux distro but in ubuntu sometimes you have to enable remote access.

check and see if your distro has similar requirements. also try to rdp from another machine ifyou can't from there either then this is probably the issue since the connection is made and you can't log in this seems to be the linux OS not allowing remote logins. sorry i don't know about your specific distro but this should lead you in the right direction
