Xfce 4.6 Suspend and Hibernate Function does not work properly with my notebook.

Hi Slackers;

I have problem with suspend and hibernate function on Xfce 4.6 which are;

Suspend Problem:
Clicking suspend button, my notebook properly suspends. After unsuspending by clicking any button on keypad or touchpad my notebook come back again and everything works except keypad. I can control my notebook only with touchpad. I can type nothing. "caps lock" and "num lock" buttons do not respond.

Hibernate Problem:
Clicking on hibernate button, my computer drops into a black screen and only a blinking cursor is seen.

i think your problem is not xfce 4.6 but suspending and hibernating at all. Does it work under KDE?
for the suspend part, you should try unloading the module responsible for the keyboard. (don't know which is it or is it even possible).
a for hibernate... well that's how it's allways been for me, never got it working (probably stopped trying too fast)

Hi,

Give a look at 'How to suspend and hibernate a laptop under Linux'. A couple of years old but still generally applicable.

This link and others are available from 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links!
