X does not start on Slackware 14.2

Hi all,
In my Linux Slackware 14.2 distribution the X server does not start. I can see that there is a problem with a "glx" module but my video card is an Intel video card and could play with "i915" driver.

The Xorg log show this:

Quote:

Ok the error is specify on this line

Quote:
[ 59.389] (EE) Failed to load /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
First enter on your system, you can use the key combination ctrl+alt+F1, when the system reach the point try to start X.org for example.

Or use a Live Distro and gain access using «mount» and «choot» commands, use the root account on you installed slackware.

Code:
slackpkg update
slackpkg file-search libGL.so.1
if you don't use multilib / compat32, you should install
Code:
slackpkg install libglvnd
if you use multilib / compat32, you should install
Code:
slackpkg install libglvnd libglvnd-compat32 mesa-compat32
the another packages you must install to make X.org working are the follow :
Code:
slackpkg install mesa xorg-server xf86-input-evdev xf86-input-libinput xf86-input-mouse ; ldconfig
after install that packages try the follow command
Code:
ldd /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so | grep "not found"
To see if requiered another file that library and after check does not say "not found" use the command
Code:
ldd /usr/lib64/libGL.so | grep "not found"
All GNU/Linux distros not ever says every each file need it, but with this you can solve the mayor part of dependencies when a library does not load because is not installed.

After restart your system and try again.

Thank you very very much Inukaze. With your suggestions I solved this problem.

First of all I entered the following commands:
Code:
slackpkg update
slackpkg file-search libGL.so.1
After a slackpkg update the system found the library libGL.so.1
Quote:
bash-4.3$ sudo slackpkg file-search libGL.so.1

Looking for libGL.so.1 in package list. Please wait... DONE

The list below shows the packages that contains "libGL\.so\.1" file.

[ installed ] - mesa-11.2.2-x86_64-1

You can search specific packages using "slackpkg search package".
then I gave the ldd command to check the libraries shared by libglx.so and the one relating to libGL.so.1 was missing.

So I reinstalled MESA drivers:
Code:
bash-4.3$ sudo slackpkg reinstall mesa-11.2.2-x86_64-1
Then by issuing the command again to check if the infamous libGL.so.1 was present in the shared libraries I verified that everything had been restored:
Quote:
bash-4.3$ sudo ldd /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so

Then as a final test I gave "startx" command and everything started working again.
I hope this can help someone who is in the same situation as me.
Thanks again Inukaze for the speed and functionality of the response.
Excellent forum.
