Wine For Slackware 9


i would like to install wine on Slackware 9 but i can only find packages for i686 at winehq.com . are they no packages for i386 machines? i really need this because i'm trying to run a windows application in it. thanks in advance.

you can just compile from source too.

Compiling wine is better anyways.. trust me!

If you compile from the source it will walk you through most of the major setup issues.. very helpfull if you never used wine before. Just use the automated install script.

So try to install package for 686 arch...i've done it a few times I am also running 386 kernel image.

Wine package works as good (or as shitly) as compiled from the source..on my PC;-)

you can get the latest version from official wine page and from linuxpackages.net,this package didn't work in my machine,I compiled from the source and size is abou 600MB and takes huge time.don't you think it is strange?
