Did you run 'modprobe rtl8187' as root?
Please post the output of 'lsmod | grep rtl8187' and 'ifconfig -a'.

Good. The kernel module is loaded and the device is being recognised but is not configured. You should now be able to configure the connection in wicd.

thanks for assisting me. its solved. but i must change the the driver option in wicd to ralink (the default is wext) to connected to access point and its runnning after i modprobe rtl8187.
