Hi,
Nice query!
Why I run Slackware?
Slackware requires me to set goals as;
Knowledge
Inquisition
Search
Share or just plain old KISS. As a long time Slackware user since PV's first Slackware release in 1993 I have been able to utilize the best UNIX-Like Gnu/Linux and will continue as long as I am able. Slackware's stability, simplicity and structured system will keep me running the systems to the fullest abilities of the hardware.
I do not need hand holding and never have the desires to let someone do my work for me. I like that we as Slackware users can customize our installs to suit the needs for the environment. Plus our interaction with PV and team allows this Gnu/Linux remain a stable OS.
New Gnu/Linux users should look at the history for Slackware by viewing

I like this quote;
Quote:
“Theory is when you know all and nothing works. Practice is when all works and nobody knows why. In this case we have put together theory and practice: nothing works... and nobody knows why!” - Albert Einstein

Plus a quote that all users should abide;
