Why doesn't Gnome 2.4 pickup my Xresources settings?

I have my emacs geometry settings saved in .Xresources but when I start emacs the settings have no effect. Is there somewhere else I should look to set this?

The natural place to look would be
~/.emacs ... or does it work properly
in other WM's?

Cheers,

My ~/.emacs works fine. In fact, under Gnome 1.X I did not have this problem.

Wink

D'oh! I found the problem. It helps if you logout and then log back in.
