Lightbulb Which version of X11 am I using?

I recompiled X11-6.8.2 from source using the x11.Slackbuild script, and then installed all of the slack packages. But I can't tell if anything is different. How do I find out if I am using the new fresh compiled version of x as opposed to using the x11 packages that I already had?

Code:
X -version
Check the build date it gives you. The current 6.8.2 packages will give 13th February 2005 as the build date, yours will obviously give today or whenever you built X.
