VBox shared folder problem (Slackware Guest Windows Host)

So I have been running Slackware 14.2 with vbox on Windows 11. I had an issue with a printer and upgraded to current (now 15 YAY). But now I am having trouble mounting a shared folder, which was working with Slackware 14.2.

I followed the process of sharing the folder in windows and made it accessible to everyone. In vbox I added the shared folder, set it to automount, permanent and left the mount point blank (it's supposed to mount to /media/vboxsf, I also tried entering a mount point but that didn't help). Unfortunately slackware doesn't see it.

I noticed that vboxsf module was not loaded so I added that in rc.modules.local and rebooted. The module did load but the folder did not show up.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

An update on this:

I realized I was running huge so I switched to generic and added vboxsf to my initrd. No the vboxsf module loads but still no shared folder.

Did you installed guest additions?

Have you tried to manually mount the share

mount -t vboxsf <share_name> <mount_point>

The default VBox shared name is the same as the directory name unless you specifically changed it.

Yes that was it. I forgot to reinstall Guest Additions. Thank you so much.
