Personally, I never grab a N.N.0 kernel, but wait and pretty quickly there's N.N.1 & N.N.2 as they fix the bugs. Give it 3 weeks, then grab the latest
Is exactly why I upgrade every tenth release unless some major has been added.

What is the best way to get the latest and greatest driver running in Slackware now? Pull the latest kernel (5.8-rc) or use the download from AMD (20.20) or both?

-current is already running the latest mesa and xorg amdgpu driver. You'd just need to install the latest kernel.

I have said this more than once, but my message has been marked as spam.
Distort. The unpleasant quest continues.
Dislike.
For thirty years I did not know in my country what a normal network is and I still go to the Internet via dial-up.
We have lived like this for thirty years and we will live another thirty without you.

Thanks to all !
Good luck LQ!

I do appreciate your efforts to communicate in a second language, but, unfortunately, I cannot understand nearly all of what you have tried to say.
Good luck to you.

********************************

Moscow is not all of Russia.
I personally received it for the fact that I started splicing cheap non-satellite Internet in the Kuril Islands, for example.
I have traveled almost the entire country and I know not by hearsay what and where and, most importantly, how it works.

And in the Far East we still have, in places not like the Internet, electricity is not everywhere.

And with drivers for Linux, AMD has really been a problem for a long time. And even those that do not work effectively.
Because I actually collected them, I don't remember when.
And I don't plan to collect them, because they are now being assembled by an AI machine.
There are kernel drivers, there are enough of them. No build is planned at all.
Now I'm sitting under 5.8 and everything is fine, even the games work at 5 plus.

There are versions 20.40 official for 20.04.1 LTS from AMD. AMD RADEON 6770 is not supported.

Nobody here compiles almost anything and doesn't really write anything. Those who write, they have no time, otherwise they would have written already.

There are no plans to build new drivers from AMD for Linux and any other systems other than Windows 10.

Goodbye to everyone. Good health!

This card was released in 2011. It is part of the Evergreen series and AMD has no publicly announced plans to support it with the AMDGPU driver (both the open and closed source versions). They also haven't announced any plans to support the generation after Evergreen, Northern Islands, either. They only support Southern Islands and newer with the AMDGPU drivers.

You will need to stick with the older, open source radeon driver.

But this thread isn't to discuss specific support, it's to announce new AMDGPU-Pro releases. If you need support help, please create a new thread (or keep it in your other thread).

Why is everyone acting like they are interacting with a sentient being? A major win for the Turing Test.
