slpkg and multilib

First of all, I want to congratulate the entire Slackware team for doing a great job and slowly bringing more and more people to this excellent Slackware distro.

Pat had an excellent vision of how a Linux distro should be created. And no one can take away this legacy. Many thanks to Pat and the entire team involved.

So getting straight to what brings me here guys. I'm currently using zenwalk with the netpkg and slpkg package manager.

Would it be possible for someone to provide a step-by-step manual on how to activate multilib through slpkg??

I did the following: I went to

and download this.

Then I followed the instructions on the website

Quote:
# slpkg update --repository=multilib
# slpkg install glibc_packages.pkgs --repository=multilib
# slpkg install compat32.pkgs --repository=multilib
Using these commands directly, slpkg does not recognize the glibc_packages.pkgs and compat32.pkgs files

So I had to download it first.

So when I do the command

Quote:
# slpkg install glibc_packages.pkgs --repository=multilib
the system breaks and it stops recognizing the glibc and gcc packages.

I've already tried editing the glibc_packages.pkgs file and commenting out some packages first, but without success.

Break my system again. Would it be possible for someone who uses slpkg and has tried to install multilib through it successfully? Thanks

Maybe it will better for you if you open an issue https://gitlab.com/dslackw/slpkg because @Dimitris Zlatanidis is not very often here...

Good morning. I have already sent a message to the developer. I'm waiting for a response.
Thanks

Hi, I am having the same problem. Did you find out what is the solution? What slpkg's author said?

Fixed my problem. User issue I guess.

I installed multilib current for slackware64-current manually, using README.ERIC and then synced with slpkg using the commands in the slpkg manual

Quote:
# slpkg install glibc_packages.pkgs --repository=multilib
# slpkg install compat32.pkgs --repository=multilib
My problem was that I enabled multilib repo in repositories.toml for slackware 15.0 and not current.

Switched to the current and it works fine

Did not test it without manual installation.
