I have made my desktop into an access point using a atheros card SL5354MP aries but I have a problem in that when I make the config script and set the channel it automatically configures it to a 5.18ghz frequency instead of 2.4. it is a abg card
I tried setting it to iwconfig ath0 freq 2.44 instead of setting the channel but that didnt seem to work it still stayed at 5.18
How would I set it to be a 2.4 frequency instead ???????
You need to lock it with iwpriv or it will likely go to a
Code:
iwpriv ath0 mode 1 lock operation to 11a only
iwpriv ath0 mode 2 lock operation to 11b only
iwpriv ath0 mode 3 lock operation to 11g only
iwpriv ath0 mode 0 autoselect from 11a/b/g (default)
Never mind I am an idiot!!! I did a copy paste and forgot to change the card number from one to the other for the other script, haha Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!
haha really? I read through that at some point really quickly when I first set up the drivers, maybe I better give it anouther skim and see what else I can find
